Many people have been defrauded after misplacing or losing their bank-linked mobile phone numbers (or SIM cards in particular).

 

Some Nigerians who are not tech savvy have lost thousands of naira by wasting their precious time calling the customer care representatives of their respective mobile network providers to ask them to block their mobile phone lines, which most of the time you have to wait before you can speak to them because of the large number of customers making enquiries or complaints for one reason or the other.

 

At times, if the issue occurs during bank closed hours or when their banks are not in operation, they will be waiting for the following day or next Monday to rush to the bank and sort things out.

 

So, it is highly recommended that all bank account holders learn some USSD codes offhand, such as the one revealed in this article, especially for your frequently used commercial bank accounts, in order to prevent fraudulent acts against the money in your bank accounts by these so-called internet hackers or fraudsters.
