Erling Haaland Sets New UCL Record After Sevilla-ManCity Match
The new UCL record breaker, Erling Haaland is a Norwegian professional footballer who currently plays for Premier League club Manchester City and the Norwegian national team.
He was born in Leeds on July 21, 2000.
He formerly played for Bryne FK (2006–2017), Molde FK (2017–2018), FC Red Bull Salzburg (2019), and Borussia Dormund (since 2020) before joining Manchester City.
Haaland won the DFB-Pokal in 2020/2021 with Borussia Dormund to boost his international recognition.
Because of his outstanding performance this season, he is now referred to as "a blessed goal machine" by some of his fans.
His nine (9) goals set a new Premier League record through a player's first five (5) games, breaking the mark of Sergio Aguero and Mick Quinn of eight, as reported by Opta.
His unique athleticism, uncomparable speed, and unstoppable finishing have fetched him more goals in this season beyond expectation, which has made him break another new record as "the first player ever to score twenty-five (25) goals in his first twenty (20) UEFA Champions League appearances," according to the UEFA Champions League's tweet via its official Twitter account @ChampionsLeague shown below:
He has topped the likes of Van Nistelrooy, F. Inzaghi, M. Gomez, Benzema, Messi, Lewandowski, and Mbappe to break this new record, after Manchester City defeated Sevilla (0-4) on today (September 6th, 2022), where he scored an additional two (2) goals for the team.
